Ambrosia is a text-based MMORPG which must be accessed and played from Facebook. What we can be proud with is, that it’s made in Indonesia!
Gameplay
Simple enough, after you decide your character’s gender, you can perform available quests for levelling. If you complete the quest several times, you’ll get a quest mastery that rewards you status point. Each time you take a quest requires Action Points. Sometimes, you’ll also encounter an enemy during a quest, you can either flee or fight him/her. If you lose, the quest is failed and you’ll lose some of your AP.
However, if you win, you’ll find that the attacker was your own friend! You also can manually fight the other user to gain more EXPs, although you’ll lose money if you lose, or your friend points reduces if you win. If you’re bored already, you can buy some lands, which will give you passive income (the amount is determined by land type) per hour. After you reached certain level, you’ll be able to change your character’s job. For what? Better jobs will grant you access to more quests. Aside typical shop (store), you can also trade with other users in the market.
The enemy could be one of your best friend.
There’s also a ‘ministry’ to get various special effects, such as fully replenish HP and AP, change gender, reset status point, etc, but none of which are free; in this case, everything else requires a certain amount of specific monetary (Mina) which can be either acquired each 5 level ups, or buying them with real-world money. Also, there you can change your character’s job.
However, this game still has many bugs, although it is acceptable since it’s still in open beta phase. The developer will keep updating the game for adding more contents as well as removing those bugs.
Presentation
Here’s how the business goes everyday in the Ambrosia’s Mini Mart
For a text-based MMORPG, Ambrosia has cute yet appealing graphics. Your avatar isn’t merely a decoration, as you can dress your avatar with various items to make him/her cooler. The interfaces also neat, plus an animated scenery in the upper part of the window, which changes which represents where you currently are. Unfortunately, sometimes the game’s window get ‘stuck’ above, makes some menus inaccessible.
Ambrosia is a proof, that the Indonesians also capable of making a simple, yet decent game.
