Dragon Age: Origins and all of its expansion pack / DLC have made an awesome RPG game franchise thanks to its epic story and impressive gameplay. But what’s about Dragon Age 2?
Live’s a Champion
Player will take a champion role who is known as Hawke and you can choose the gender either as male or female. The story flows backward, told by a woman named Cassandra, and a dwarf named Varric. It will cover the events that already happened in the past 10 years, as well as how Hawke eventually can become a Champion.
The story also have a slight relation with Dragon Age: Origins plot, and the early chapter will explain everything. Actually, Dragon Age 2 takes place right in the middle of the first game’s story. Also you can import the save data from the first game so that Dragon Age 2’s gameplay changes depend on the decisions you’ve made in the Dragon Age: Origins.
What’s New in Dragon Age 2...
There are some gameplay changes in Dragon Age 2. First, unlike the emotionless and speechless Dragon Age: Origins main character, Hawke will have his/her own emotions as well as voice actor. Also, Mass Effect 2’s dialogue wheel make an appearance here replacing the regular dialog choices. In Dragon Age: Origin, the party members will leave you once you have a bad relationship with them, but in Dragon Age 2, party members will have status as a "friend" or "rival" without leaving your side.
The combat system remains unchanged. For the console version, the ‘command wheel’ still there to issue various commands, as well as ability to setting up a specific tactic to your party members, while for the PC version, player still able to pause the game in order to issue commands. The attack animations are faster and smoother now. Finally, the graphics as well as the map view have been totally revamped so that it won’t be bland anymore like in Dragon Age: Origins.
Also just for ‘fun’ (and “advertisement” as well), EA has included an armor that resembles Dead Space’s protagonist Isaac Clarke’s armor as one of secret unlockable armor. EA named it ‘Sir Isaac of Clarke’ armor. If you are a big fans of Bioware’s Mass Effect franchise and the previous Dragon Age games then Dragon Age 2 is definitely for you.
